I've been writing up some directions for installing gift on debian based
operating systems at http://linuxpmi.org/trac/wiki/GiftStuff .None of it is
complete, but the lenny stuff worked once-upon-a-time... I'm currently
updating the directions as I go along for my vm servers based on debian
squeeze.

The only way I've used gift is with a debian machine of one sort or another,
so you're probably going to need someone who knows how to set one up,
compile software likely debug software, etc...
