There is an other package called cdd or cdd++ maintained by Fukuda.
As far as I remember, it uses some mixture of floating point and exact gmp
arithmetic. Probably :), the exact arithmetic is used only if the solution
obtained by the floating computation is not perfect.
The package has a lot of other feature to deal with polyhedra.
