One possibility is that somebody has captured a previous execution of the
gnatsweb interface and stored it in a php wrapper. Then all of the
selections are not updated from the real dbconfig.

You can run gnatsweb in debug mode and see where it gets the categories.

Subject: problem adding categories

Hi,

Hoping to get some insight into possible sources
of a problem creating categories.

Running Gnats 4.0 on a SuSE 9.1 box with gnatsweb
being used by small team of devs.

Requested to add category to particular DB. Category
added as per previous categories in:
/gnats/db-name/gnats-adm/categories
with the following format
category:category:db-name:responsible
This format was pretty much duped from other
working category statements in the categories file.

Running /usr/lib/gnats/mkcat --database=DBName
(where DBName is as contained in /etc/gnats/databases)

mkcat reports accordingly that /gnats/db-name/category
has been successfully created.

The problem is this, when logging in as 'responsible-user'
to the gnatsweb site, the category is not visible/available
to select from drop down.

I may be barking up the wrong tree here, but can anyone
point me in the right direction as to possible causes for
this discrepancy.

many thanks,
