I'll do that; it will make future building Lilypond much more
straightforward.
I've been using Unix machines in industry since 1989 and
I still tend to look upon Redhat's 'rpm' and Debian's 'dselect'
as a good attempt, but still not there. I bypass deselect
on this 2.1, slink installation sometimes with large
applications such as XEphem. But I went through dselect to
install guile-config; guile was already installed. I suspect
that maintaining dependencies for 'dselect' and 'rpm' is like
painting the Forth Road Bridge in Scotland - never ending.
