Yes, the names are actually backwards - as you have it now, arithmetic_basicspace is a pure number (ratio) and arithmetic_multiplier is a length! Confused me for a bit allright. As I now understand it, you should change params.ly to read "Lily calculates c so that the smallest space within a measure is arithmetic_multiplier, 5.949 pt for the standard 20 pt staff." When I'm sure I've got Lily's note-spacing stuff straight, I'll post my notes to GMD - maybe they'll be of use to others... John
