I find problem when installing Lilypond.

I am using RedHat 6.0, and i try to install lilypond-1_2_6_tar, but when i unzip it and use "./configure", there is a problem in symbolic link, and i continue to use "make" and it terminated after complie several file. how can i solve this problem, it is the main problem come from the linking???   Thanks.
