HWN: "But are you sure that you really want everything to change
size? Or do you want to change \property Staff.staffLineLeading?"
sLL works perfectly. Thanks.
BTW - paper20.ly sets staffheight = 20.0\pt;
      params.ly sets interline = \staffheight / 4.0;

JN:"global=\notes{ \property Staff.timeSignatureStyle="C"
\keysignature bes; \time 4/4; }"
Oops - didn't spot that - I guess I'd been about 12 hours
removing note head overlaps with fHS by that point!

"Btw: could you please check why your .lys get mangled so badly
in email?"
Carleton still uses a 1960's era punched card news formatter (72
columns data, 8 columns card sequence number) and the only way
around it is to upload a file using Zmodem then append it to the
mail message. It takes about ten times as long, but I'll have to
do it from now on :(

When I use
\translator{\StaffContext \consists Bar_number_engraver;}
with the PianoStaff, I get a bar number at the beginning of both
upper and lower staves. I'd prefer normal usage of only on the
upper staff. I get errors with every usage I've tried of the
ScoreWithNumbers context mentioned in the refman and can't get
any action from barNumberDirection...

I'm really confused by Lily's requirements for bracket type. I
couldn't get the \autochange Staff to work on my files until I
changed the \notes {...} that I've been using until now to
\notes <...>. (Is it the prefix \context PianoStaff that does
it?) But, Jan mixes \context Staff=up <...> and \context
Staff=down {...} and that doesn't seem to make any difference!
Autochange works for me now, though - down to work to get K001
looking right, then on a 200 sonata backlog...

A minor refman correction: min/maxVerticalAlign are valid only in
group staff context e.g. PianoStaff, not in Staff context as
listed. I presume that applies to alignmentReference as well...
