Here:

you create tree staffs, the first containing only: '\partial 2',
a staff of no width, has equal left and right spanpoints.
Not pretty to see Lily dump core, though.
So, try:
\context Staff = uppertop < \partial 2; \key g;
\context Voice = bovenstem \bovenstem
