If anyone could help me to be able to compile Lily, I'd appreciate it. I have tried
compiling a number of different versions of the Lily. Every time, I seem to be able to
get through most of the process, then the make fails when metafont is building the
fonts. The following output is from version 1.2.16, though the same thing happened
with 1.2.16, 1.3.17, and 1.3.18.
I realized at one point that there is no "texmf" directory in "/usr/share/". I then
make a link from "/usr/share/texmf" that points to "/usr/lib/texmf/texmf/", which is
where my texmf stuff is, including metapost. I *do* have a mfplain.mp file within
/usr/lib/texmf/texmf/metapost/base . So, metapost should have been able to find the
file once I put in the link, but then it just gave me a different error in the same
place. The following is the stdout log.
