I tried on the PC at home, and I couldn't see any differences
between you DVI and PS files.

You have probably copied this example from the manual of the
latest development version. Unfortunately, the NT version
is fairly old, and the syntax has changed considerably since
then. I don't remember if the manual is included in the
NT package, otherwise I recommend the copy at
http://www.gnu.org/software/lilypond/. It is for version 1.2.17
of Lilypond which is closer to your version (1.2.0).
