I'm not finding very much on my searches,
This could be due to a number of things. First, check the statistics (in
gnunet-gtk, -qt or gnunet-stats) if your node is connected to other
nodes and your resource limits are not being exceeded.
and I've heard of these things called URIs. Can anyone help?
URIs identify resources on GNUnet in a unique way. URIs in the form
gnunet://ecrs/chk/...
identify files on GNUnet's file sharing network.
