Hello all, I am _very_ new to GNUstep, but I just don't get a simple Helloworldish example to work. I am talking about Nicola's mini-Makefile tutorial, chapter 4: "A First App". I had no problem running "A First Tool". "A First App" however, compiled, but Segmentation Faulted. Each time. I updated the Debian Potato packages to those of Slink, but there was no change. Here's my install: stefan@Pflipp:~$ dpkg -l "gstep-*" | grep ii ii gstep-base-exa 0.6.6-0.1 Examples using the GNUstep Base Library ii gstep-base0 0.6.6-0.1 The GNUstep Base Library ii gstep-base0-db 0.6.6-0.1 Debugging versions for the GNUstep Base Libr ii gstep-base0-de 0.6.6-0.1 Header files and static libraries for the GN ii gstep-extensio 0.8.6-1 Header files and static libs for the GNUstep ii gstep-extensio 0.8.6-1 The GNUstep Extensions Library ii gstep-gui0 0.6.6-0.1 The GNUstep GUI Library ii gstep-gui0-dbg 0.6.6-0.1 Debugging versions for the GNUstep GUI Libra ii gstep-gui0-dev 0.6.6-0.1 The GNUstep GUI Library ii gstep-make 0.6.6-0.1 The GNUstep makefile package ii gstep-xgps-exa 0.6.6-0.1 Example GNUstep applications using the X/GPS ii gstep-xgps0 0.6.6-0.1 The GNUstep GUI X/GPS Backend ii gstep-xgps0-db 0.6.6-0.1 Debugging versions for the GNUstep GUI X/GPS ii gstep-xgps0-de 0.6.6-0.1 Development files for the GNUstep GUI X/GPS I even tried another example once (with 0.6.5, though), but all I get is "Segmentation Fault", each time again. I can't debug; I have installed the debug versions, as you see, but "make [install] debug=yes" hasn't got any spectacular results (but segfaults). I don't even get a core. So I have no clue whatsoever. Please help me getting into debugging, and eventually tell me what I've done wrong. Thanks, Stefan
