Trying to compile GNUstep on a RedHat8.0 x86 box. all the dependancies are installed, and gnustep-make compiles and installs correctly. The ./configure script tells me that I've gotten everything done correctly; it gives no erros. However, when make'ing it, I fail with the following error:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] gnustep-base-1.5.2]# iconv --version iconv (GNU libiconv 1.8) [...] One odd thing is that the user manual tells me that it wants 2.1.2... which is strange, because there is no version 2.1.2. 1.8 is as of today (and last year...) the most recent version available at gnu.org. my gcc version is 3.2, trying to install gnustep-base 1.5.2. Note again that gnustep-make compiled correctly.
