Hi all

Am trying out some GNUstep apps on Ubuntu 6.10 amd64. This is the remote
server and I am running from a Mac OS X client running the Apple X11 server
over 100Mbs ethernet with ssh -x. Whenever I launch a GNUstep app, I get
this message:

2007-03-12 13:30:04.450 CodeEditor[15613] XShm not supported.
2007-03-12 13:30:04.451 CodeEditor[15613] Falling back to normal XImage:s
(will be slower).

>From some googling I suspect this means that the graphical display
operations cannot use an optimised process (XShm) and will therefore be
slower. However, I can't find out any info on why and how to resolve it.

Is this the fault of: GNUstep? my Ubuntu setup? my xorg.conf? the video card
on the server? the Apple X11 server? or something else? Any tips on how to
improve the situation are appreciated.

TIA

Michael
