On many listservs, the manager may choose the function of "Reply": to the group, or to the individual. I always choose "to the group", and I find the other irritating. On at least one group I manage, I have received complaints that "to the group" results in too much e-mail. I sometimes respond with some abrupt comment reminding them of the purpose of the group. The "e-mail mirror" of this newsgroup appears to use "to the individual".
