With the cd booting in hard disk emulation mode grub is one of two well known solutions for managing multiple work environments on a CD/DVD. The other commonly used method is syslinux, which focuses on FAT/ISO9660 filesystem support. In either case you'd have to take the startup code from each target in question and properly chainload it from the bootloader.
