Yes, I do get this error even if I do not modify.
My grub.cfg listed below.
But note my boot is OS-independent, ie. I created a separate 'boot'
partition with my (simplified text only) custom grub.cfg
(by grub-install --boot-directory separate partition).
Also tested with the 'real' OS boot (using grub2.0 beta3) with complete
grub 2 themes/payload etc (by grub-install OS to sda).
Similar error results.
