It might help if you gave a bit more info on what you are trying to do.
If it's a case of "got a 512 byte file, want to write it to a
sector", then one method I could think of would be using "dd". Use
the oseek option to seek part way into the disk.
Obviously, you would want to try this out on something you don't mind
losing - it's very easy to get something wrong and destroy data.
