Hi. I'd have two questions about grub2.
1) Are there checks in place that GRUB2 never accidentally installs to a blockdevice, which contains a filesystem or another container like an LVM PV, a dm-crypt LUKS container,... or a mdadm (regardless of the metadata-version i.e. whether it is at the beginning or not)? When it installs to MBR, will it always check whether the gap after the MBR is big enough (and only install at all (i.e. also in the 1 sector) when this is the case)? What happens if a BIOS Boot Partition on a GPT disk... will it check that before writing for any known fs/container (e.g. using blkid) or will it blindly take believe the UUID of the partition and overwrite? 2) Does GRUB now officially support direct booting from mdadm RAID levels 5/6/50/60? Or is it just from level 0 and 1? Thanks, Chris. btw: Please keep me CCed.
