I wish to install linux systems (LinuxMint and Solydxk) on a gpt partitioned disk.

The computer is a CompuLabs FitPc3Pro.

The BIOS is Phoenix SBC_2.1.0.333_14X64.

/fitpc3 martin # gdisk -l /dev/sda/

/GPT fdisk (gdisk) version 0.8.10/

/Partition table scan:/

/fitpc3 martin # update-grub/

/Found memtest86+ multiboot image: /boot/memtest86+_multiboot.bin/

/No volume groups found/

/done/

/fitpc3 martin # grub-install /dev/sda/

/Installing for i386-pc platform./

/Installation finished. No error reported./

(Only one system is presently installed.)

Upon trying to start the system the bios presents the main disk description (ATA HDD0: Kingstonxxxxxxxxxxxx) and nothing else.

Where have I gone wrong?
