I have two computers running grub on nvme SSD's, with Win10 and Linux
Mint Mate 21.1 installed on each.
So, I think the problem is probably not with grub.
Perhaps, try installing Ubuntu Linux, and/or Linux Mint, and find what
happens, regarding grub.
