As I learnt not too long ago, Guix logs to tty12, so maybe switch to tty12 immediately after executing shutdown, or reboot: sudo chvt 12 ; sleep 5; sudo shutdown You can also record your screen with camera while above command-sequence executes to capture any log messages which quickly scrolled off.
