Thank you, I've found things after I learned how to get rid of the  
gray X11 blanket
covering the whole screen, without rebooting the system :-)

(Jose, is the resource prefix "GV" or "gv"?  The manual should state
this explicitly.  An example or two wouldn't hurt either.)
