Hi chaps and thanks so far - my particular problem is that I can get some
things to execute just from a shell command, whereas for others like "info" I
get the response "command not found". But what I am going to do now ( that
means when my next Hurd slot at home comes round ) is go thru all the packages
I downloaded & see what's there, trash the Hurd partition & reinstall from the
large tarball, and then write down exactly what I have done & **then** come
back to this list with my dumb question about command not found.

-X11- for those who were asking, I am going to have a go with the Uchiyama X
package, but ""not this week"" as I am going to put them/Hurd on a second
machine. Which will involve several adventures for me, that's why don't hold
your breath, but I am eager to get there. When I have got "somewhere" I will
come back to this list with findings. BTW I assume it is possible to have my
Xserver (gui/kbd/mse) on this machine running X on either Linux or Hurd, and the
Xclient running the application under Hurd or Linux on another box. That's how
I understand X - invitations to put myself right on this welcomed ;-)
