Hello,

> I was wondering if there was any ports to the Alpha architecture.
None at the moment. GNU/Mach only runs on i386.

> Supposedly HURD will work on any architecture supported be the microkernel.
That is theoretically correct. However, since the hurd has not been used
on non-i386 architectures, there may be trivial porting needed.

Well, before you can get a running hurd, you need a running GNU/Mach;
this might be the best place to start your coding effort. To see a running
hurd, you have to have an i386 box.

Although Tru64 is based on Mach, it is based on CMU's Mach 2.5 whereas
the hurd is based on CMU's Mach 3. Note that the differences between
the two are huge; the former is a single server microkernel while the
latter is a multiserver.

The following are the main Alpha architecture links that I am aware of:
1) http://ftp.digital.com/pub/Digital/info/semiconductor/literature/dsc-library.html
2) http://www.digital.com/DTJ800/
3) http://www.alphalinux.org/

None have anything to do witht he hurd and if you are a alpha enthusiast,
you likely already know about these.
