In my head, I tend to have 2 types of performance users:
1) The type that require 80 frames per second on a video game
2) The type that want to push 100MB/sec (or 1GB/sec) out their network cards.
I tend to focus my thinking on #2 because I work with file servers. =) There crash
protection is quite important too, but with quick recovery time it's sometimes okay
to fail periodically if the speed increase is worth it.
And sometimes not. =)
