I'm currently developing some code for the PowerQuic2 (that's the 8260 from
Motorola - a 603e processor with a large number of communications
peripherals integrated on the chip). Once I'm free of this work I would be
available to work on this.

I'm new to the Hurd so I'd welcome some feedback as to whether this would be
an appropriate target for a port. The only traffic I've read has implied a
system which is both the development platform and the intended target (Linux
style). My interest is different; I cross develop on a PC for embedded
platforms.

Incidentally, I quite dislike the PowerQuic parts. IHMO they're an exercise
in misplaced genius. I'm resigned to working on them because they're so
common. My current favorite processors are the Hitachi SH series (SH-4 is
the engine that powers the Sega Dreamcast). I don't find the x86 processors
very valuable. They're good at what they do - running the tools, keeping the
accounts and so on - but I don't find them very optimal for slinging large
amounts of data about. (I presume there's a lot of code for them merely
because that's what people have on their desks.)
