Hello, Working on my Linux box and surfing around with Alt+F* under heavy (ide) disk activity (as virtually nothing else could be done), a question popped into my mind. How will this work on the Hurd? Does user space serving of essential tasks (ie. a kind of a screen replacing vt-s, as written before [?], fs translators) mean the loss of such extrem-priority, or not? But if yes, and those translators/programs are allowed privileged use of the CPU, what if a sub-Hurd is started by a user with extreme hungry translators? Will this be resolved by giving privileged use to the _user_ for nice-ing the processes?
