In GNU/Hurd these "special files"/"device files" in /dev are simply
files, which are associated with translators.  It's not like in Unix,
where the major/minor numbers of "special files" created with mknod
identify the driver for that file.  In GNU/Hurd you simply install
passive translators on these files.
