You can get security problems with tarfiles if you don't get your tars
from a trusted location and/or don't do tar -tf like Oystein Viggen
said. This is just a general thing and hasn't anything to do with the
Hurd or GNU. The solution is to make tar and tarfs ask the user before
doing dangerous things by default.
