I have noticed upon application of the 'ls -l' command in the /dev directory
of Hurd that the files do not appear in the regular 'linux-fashion' as:

brw-r--r-- crw-r--r-- and so on.They lack the 'b' and 'c' letter
indicator.

Only the socket files appear with their 's': srw-r--r--

Is there any particular reason for this?
Are they still 'regular' device-files or is it different with Hurd?
Or has this anything to do with the translator-concept?

SS.
