Hi,

(It seems that the last time (yesterday evening) when I sent this mail
it didn't reach help-hurd, I'm re-sending it...)

While I was working with the console-client I've noticed something
really weird. This is how to reproduce it:

1) Login.
2) Logout.
3) Switch to another VC before it shows the login prompt again.
4) Now you will see the login prompt.

This is normal behavior. Now I do something else:

1) Login.
2) Logout.
3) Wait.
4) Now you will see the login prompt, but the screen was not cleared!

This is not a display glitch or a bug in the client. I found out that
if another client is attached and is watching the same VC it doesn't
clear the screen (I've attached two clients simultaneously).

(I feel like the console server does nasty stuff on my VC and I'm not
allowed to see it... One thing is sure, it is really good in hiding evidence).

My question is: Is this behavior intended? (The display output
depends on the VC that is viewed). If it is intended what is the use
of this (other than irritate me :P) and how does it work?

Thanks,
Marco
