#rpctrace /bin/make
rpctrace: cannot exec '/bin/make': No such file or directory
#ldd /bin/make
not a dynamic executable
Many other executables from the same directory are executing. I am not
sure what is happening.

Hmph, do other programs work in /bin? Could you try and see what
"rpctrace /bin/make" produces? The output of "ldd /bin/make" would
also be useful.
Sadly I have no real idea of what is going on.
