%% [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:
Never send subscribe/unsubscribe messages to a mailing list (any mailing
list).
All mailing lists will have a -request address, so if your mailing list
is [EMAIL PROTECTED] then you should use the address [EMAIL PROTECTED] when
you want to talk about administrative details, like subscribing and
unsubscribing.
Often that address is automated, so if you stick a word like "help" or
"subscribe" or "unsubscribe" in the Subject line you will get back an
automated response with useful instructions.
Remember this is true of all mailing lists, not just FSF lists.
HTH!
PS. If you should find a list without a -request address, try -admin
instead. But I haven't run across any lists in the last 5 years
which didn't have -request.
