Hi,
I'd like to use the $(eval ...) feature; while present in 3.80, it has
had some serious bugs (the notorious "Virtual memory exhausted"...).
It isn't cool to say "make from CVS after 'Day X' is required to
build Foo 1.0', and there weren't any releases since 2002...
