I wonder why the word 'command' changed with 'recipe' in the make manual!! Command was a better word and inspired the real function of the shell commands for a rule.
When i look at 'recipe', it takes some seconds to translate it back to 'command' to understand it. The word 'command' is still used at some parts of the document and it seems that the author did not have time to replace the new invention completely. Besides when a manual has bugs as I reported it and the explanations are ambiguous at many parts, why we need to change the names! There are many more important things to do than to change the previous names to make people more confused!! First it is better to remove bugs and mistakes and to clarify the subjects by explaining them in details and also many examples has not been explained enough. _______________________________________________ Help-make mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-make
