I used the following findings to find the version, but then I am
narrowed down to two choices, v5.5 and v5.6.

Versions 5.5 and above use date in which the year is 4-digit and v5.7
and above have the option -V to check the version.

I guess this is the best that we can do here. :)

My advice is to upgrade to 5.7.  What's the point of running anything
older?  5.7 is quite old and stable.
