Has anyone experienced Abort trap: 6 when executing rcs commands?

I've just experienced it, as shown by:

$ ci -l root.imk
Abort trap: 6

I've no idea why it's happening.  I did update xcode recently
and may have updated my OS, but I'm not sure.
