So I'm > afraid it's something with the repo If you're using the same branch (master) on both machines and git log reports the same commit as most recent, I'd expect the sources to be the same. The weird effect I had was caused by 2.6.30 kernel headers claiming that sockets support CLO_EXEC, when the 2.6.27 kernel that was actually running did not. IIRC you can install "linux-headers" separately from the kernel, so it could have been a similar effect.
