Dear Duke,

I am not a GNU Smalltalk specialist but I hope I can help a bit.

Are you aware that the " SmalltalkVTutorial.pdf" is for Smalltalk/V, not for
GNU Smalltalk? There are several Smalltalk implementations, aka "Smalltalk
dialects", which differ technically from each other. Smalltalk/V is an outdated
one. GNU Smalltalk differs from the main Smalltalk dialects significantly. If
you are interested especially in GNU Smalltalk I think you should start here:
https://www.gnu.org/software/smalltalk/manual/html_node/Tutorial.html

I'm reading "SmalltalkVTutorial.pdf" to learn the lingo!

Things were going well until `gst' choked on the following:

'hello' at: 1 put: $H

as well as

#( 1 0 4 5 ) at: 2 put: # ( 2 3 )

Is there another way to do the above in `gst' ? TIA ...

Duke
