display raw control characters using `info'

Hi,

Does the stand-alone info browser have the capability to
display raw control characters (i.e., as does GNU `less'
with the `-r' option).  E.g., I would like to see `�'
instead of `^U' in an info document (BTW, this is
021 decimal, 015 hex, in the IBM PC character set 437).
