Hi, The author of thumbpdf.sty, a widely used (pdf)latex package to generate thumbnails, says that thumbpdf.sty works with plain tex documents too. So I tried
@tex \input thumbpdf.sty @end tex but ran into some errors with undefined commands in thumbpdf.sty. I gave up at this point because I am not a texpert, but it might be a promising route to follow for someone who is.
