Hi,

The author of thumbpdf.sty, a widely used (pdf)latex package to generate
thumbnails, says that thumbpdf.sty works with plain tex documents too.
So I tried

@tex
\input thumbpdf.sty
@end tex

but ran into some errors with undefined commands in thumbpdf.sty.
I gave up at this point because I am not a texpert, but it might be a
promising route to follow for someone who is.

The document is a User's Guide for a toolkit for scientific data
manipulation called NCO.
