Does anyone know how to generate Chinese pdf from texi file?
People have told me they've done it but I'm afraid I don't know any
details. In general, you need to run a Chinese TeX, ie, a version that
loads all the Chinese fonts and makes them the default. No one has ever
sent me support in a way that I could integrate.
I wish I had a better answer.
Yet, I can generate Chinese html successfully from texi file.
All makeinfo does is (essentially) copy the input to the output. That's
not possible with TeX.
