Take action ASAP Cyberact: Prepared letter on line (may be edited): <https://community.hsus.org/campaign/FED_2007_farmbill_amendments3?rk=idL9me 71HI0EW> www.community.hsus.org/campaign/FED_2007_farmbill_amendments3?rk=idL9me71HI0 EW or send directly (edited sample below) Source: "Humane Society of the United States" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: 25 Oct 2007 21:25:50 -0000 Once every five years or so, Congress considers the Farm Bill, which means we have a rare opportunity to pass animal welfare legislation as part of this large package. I hope you will join me in helping to protect pets by asking your U.S. Senators today the Akaka amendment on Class B Dealers to the Farm Bill. It will only take a minute to take action. Here is the link: Contact your 2 U.S. Senators in support of the Akaka amendment on Class B Dealers in this year's Farm Bill. Slightly Edited: The House has already unanimously approved, as part of its Farm Bill, an amendment to prohibit the use in research of dogs and cats obtained from random source "Class B" dealers, who may steal pets or fraudulently obtain them through "free to good home" ads. PLEASE work to ensure that the Senate Farm Bill includes this provision. The Farm Bill has historically been a vehicle for enactment of numerous animal protection measures. I care very much about companion animals, and these issues are important to me. Thank you for your consideration. I will be watching for your vote. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> Judy Reed AnimalVoices Speaking For Animals & Their Environment This is distibuted for nonprofit research and educational purposes only.
