Judy,

Did you hear what happened at last week's public hearing on carbon pollution?
Hundreds of Americans showed up to speak out in support of clean air -- but the
coal industry, apparently unable to find many people willing to say we
shouldn't protect our health from air pollution, resorted to using their
profits to make up for the gap: they <b>posted an ad on Craigslist to pay
people $50 to show up wearing pro-coal t-shirts.

Luckily we caught them and got evidence of the under-handed tactic. But there
are more hearings and events coming up this month across the country, and we
need to make sure that if Big Coal does this again, their astroturf activists
aren't mistaken for the real thing. Help spread the word by sharing this image
on Facebook [ http://www.nrdconline.org/site/R?i=eSxJYsslsaql1ZkukmsmBA ]

If you don't have Facebook, you can still help! Just forward this email to five
friends who do, and ask them to share it.

The coal industry has been ramping up its campaign against the EPA's proposal
to finally limit the amount of carbon dioxide pollution coming from new power
plants with stunts like this, misleading ads, and increased political donations.

The fact that Big Coal has to resort to paying people to make it look like they
have real activists on their side shows us that while it may have a lot of
money, the coal industry doesn't have the grassroots support that we do.

But unless people like you spread the word about Big Coal's Craigslist ad and
keep an eye out for tactics like this, the coal industry could succeed in
making it look like they have real support to keep dumping unlimited carbon
dioxide pollution into the air we breathe. Please don't let them get away with
this click here to share Big Coal's stunt with your networks [

Thanks for your help!
