typically one 'applies' for aspen workshops, and the SOC selects. and in this case, I think the selection has already happened, or is happening this week. i could write to Oesch and ask. i 'applied' a couple weeks ago, but now it looks like i have to be in UK around then for the STFC review of the proposal we submitted last month. getting to aspen is a pain anyway.

and... for those that are not totally saturated with 1st light meetings, here is another one. I have told them we are having the algorithm workshop that week, but for those that would rather go to germany...

"On behalf of the Scientific Organising Committee I would like to invite you to give an invited talk at the 5th annual MPIA Summer conference “Illuminating the Dark Ages: Quasars and Galaxies in the Reionization Epoch” that will take place next year from June 27 till July 1 at the âHaus der Astronomie” in Heidelberg, Germany. The topics that we hope to discuss during the conference include the properties of quasars and galaxies at the end of the Dark Ages, observations of HI reionization and simulations of reionization and early structure formation. (Preliminary) information about the conference topics can be found at our webpage: http://www.mpia.de/homes/darkages2016/ As an expert in the field, we are hoping that you would be willing to give a talk about your recent work on this subject. We would appreciate it if you could let us known if you accept the invitation before the end of the year. Hoping to hear from you soon! Best wishes, Bram Venemans on behalf of the SOC: B. Ciardi, X. Fan, N. Gnedin, M. Haehnelt, J. Hennawi, L. Pentericci, V. Springel, B. Venemans, M. Volonteri and F. Walter"

its all got out of control...

Hi everyone,

Is anyone going to the Aspen conference this coming March? http://firstgalaxies.org/aspen_2016/ Or at least thinking about it? Danny and I were chatting about this. We’re both somewhat on the fence, and we’re wondering who might be going.

Best,
Adrian
