I am using cygwin on windows which brings a UNIX like environment to
windows.  Git kinda works under it.  You will run in to issues with CR/
LF issues since windows and unix differently.  For better or worse,
git is really geared toward UNIX environments (Linux, Mac OSX,
Solaris, etc).
