I'm another Hardy Heron user with FF3 - and I would also really
appreciate being able to use FF3 for Heroku.

Currently it's a really bad idea - trust their warnings and just don't
open Katana (the online IDE) with FF3 - I had an issue where all of a
sudden the file that I was working on was completely empty. Thank god
the good folks implemented AutoSnapshots a few days ago ;)
