I have recently had a number of 50X errors. Often with these server
errors, all that is needed is to refresh the browser. May I suggest
that heroku add a nice message to these error pages that asks the
users to simply refresh?

Another suggestion would be to notify us when there are 50X errors. My
rails app doesn't even get hit, so exception_notification/hoptoad
doesn't get executed.

Finally, (and I think the best option in the long term) is to let us
customize our 500 errors. So if the server fails before hitting my
rails app, it will just load a static HTML file that I create.
