Hi Paul.

RPXNow.com doesn't outsource account management. You still have to
store "User" records with all of the fields needed for your
application. RPXNow.com outsources authentication. From a user's
perspective, it means that they don't have to go through the "register/
confirm email/login" cycle, and the "forgot password/email/login"
cycle. I find that very convenient.

Janrain also has a product called OPX (http://www.janrain.com/products/
opx) if you want to issue openids.
